I will never ever waste my time with this company. On the companies website it clearly stated if you get your order processed before 12/1/2020 that you would receive your order before Christmas. First it took forever just to complete the order due to the horrible website which is totally ridiculous, from what this company charges for the dolls they should be able to do much better than that. Once my create your own doll order was placed it clearly stated that none of my parts were on backorder so at this point I'm certain I'll get my order before Christmas. A week an a half goes by I'm not nervous but just curios as to when the order would ship so I contact customer service which again is a joke in itself, either hold for two hours or leave a message for a call in 220 mins. Anyway over the past two weeks I was insured by three count them three customer service agents that I would get my order by Christmas. You ask why I called and messaged on Facebook? I literally just had a bad feeling due to the lack of communication from the company. Now today 12/20 five days before Christmas I'm informed there is no way my little girl would be getting her doll before Christmas due to it being in a long shipping queue, the doll is built but we can't ship it. Basically we can't stand by our promise to get you the product before Christmas. They should have said we basically lied to get your money knowing we couldn't come through. There is no way I would have dropped 212.00 dollars on a gift for my kid if she couldn't open it on Christmas I would have came up with something else. Thanks American Girl you guys suck. I know I'm one person so my opinion isn't much in your bottom dollar but know I never and I mean never write reviews, but I could smear your name over the entire internet I would.

For 5 years I have been an slave to the horrible customer service from American Girl Doll. Over 45 minutes on hold for customer service to resolve one issue only to be told I have to call back yet again for another backorder problem.
Can't wait for my daughter to become a few years older so I don't have to ever deal with their incompetence again.

American girl is good

American girl is nice but the money to buy a doll is so much I do not like to buy a thing but I might buy some outfit but you have to have like 200$ just in your bank account I mean probably have that but do you want to spend 200$ on a doll and a book and some outfit

Ordering left us so disappointed

My daughter wanted to design her own doll for Christmas. When we got on the site to design it was told some things were on backorder and would delay delivery for several weeks. My daughter not wanting to wait purposely picked everything that was not label as being on backorder so it would arrive before Christmas. She comprised on a lot of the design choices. When I made the purchase I was then informed it would still be delayed because of backordering. So it started with the disappointment of her having to comprise on the design. Sucks but ok $#*! happens sometimes. Then the disappointment of finding out it would still be another 3 months till delivery and since they waited until after I made the purchase so she couldn't even go back to make it how she really wanted it. And when it did finally arrive yesterday it had a sticker they put on it saying merry Christmas and had her name printed on it. 2 1/2 months after Christmas. Just kinda brought all that disappointment all over again. Bad form

Bad customer service

I ordered an expensive accessory for my granddaughter 2 days ago. Said limited quantity but was not on back order. After 2 days still no information though said would receive next week when i ordered. So call them over 45 minute wait for call back. Then they tell me it is back ordered and won't be in stock till April 30th. Really over 2 months for an item for the doll of the year which we purchased for her birthday, Who does the stocking around there and why an over 2 month wait for an item? Made in China maybe. You would think they would have items available for a doll that just came out! Very poor service all the way around! If i hadn't contacted them don't know how long it would have taken to receive this information. Automated, really! Try hiring some real people to keep your business running! Expensive to buy from people who are cheap about running their company, no regard for the children!

TERRIBLE STAY AWAY HUGE SCAM

STAY AWAY HUGE SCAM WILL HANG UP ON YOU VERY RUDE AND TRY TO CHARGE YOUR CARD WITHOUT YOUR CONTEST AND THEN THEY TELL YOU WE DID NOT DO IT ITS AUTOMATIC

Never again

No customer service at all

I needed to change my cc # because it was compromised, and they had to back order one of the pieces, When they went to recharge the card it was declined. So I called their customer care line to give them a new CC. First I called in the am and opted for them to call me back in 140 minutes. Well that never happened so I called again around 3 pm and same thing, requested a call back and never got one. So I called in at 7 pm and have been on hold for 2 hours already, being forced to listen to the same music riff over and over again. I think they picked it so you would hang up. One would think our business is important and have adequate operators to handle the Christmas rush. The hold times are ridiculous and is a sign of how little they care for customers. They also produced a new sugar plum fairy doll for $250.00. When I went to look at it on the site (early December) it is sold out. How many little girls are asking for this doll and won't get it, it was on the front cover and marketed heavily to little girls. And then they don't make enough of them.

Customer Service Sucks

My daughter ordered a doll and cheerleading practice equipment for my granddaughter for Christmas. She ordered in early November. She received a large box from American Girl Doll and assumed that such a large box would contain the entire order. When she opened the box it contained only the doll, no cheer equipment. She immediately contacted the customer service department and was on hold for over an hour. While on hold we researched the website to find that what she was supposed to receive, was charged for and not included in the package was of course out of stock and not available until after Christmas (Broken little girls heart of course). My daughter finally spoke to someone the next day to be told that a supervisor would be contacting her. Surprise! No one has called her. This company really cares for their customers, NOT! How can you forget to pack an order and not make it right and not have the courtesy to call and apologize and make it right. DO NOT order from this company. They are terrible.

Worst customer service of any company.

Poor service and doll quality

The freckles are hideous and clearly not applied properly, nor as pictured. It looks like someone drew freckles with a gold, permanent marker. I didn't appreciate waiting over an hour just to find out more disappointing news - like replacement with a cheaper doll! I customized it for a reason! I am incredibly disappointed in everything from AG - ordering was a challenge (had to repeat several times), the quality of the doll is NOT worth $200 and customer service was just as awful!

Low quality, limbs break for no reason

My daughter got this doll for her birthday after wanting it for a long time. She played it it twice when right leg broke off. While trying to fix it to keep it in the sitting position for decoration the other leg broke off as well. It was horrifying for my daughter to watch the doll she wanted for so long without two of its limbs. Extremely disappointing for the Price it costs. The final blow was finding out that there is a clinic that can fix a doll's limbs for a steep price. It's the most ridiculous toy for the price.

Gift Card - Unwilling to refund purchaser

I purchased a $200 gift card which I ended up never using. I have the purchase receipt still. My daughter outgrew her interest in AmericanGirl, and since I'm not going to be buying anything with the gift card, I called to have my money refunded. Apparently they feel they are entitled to MY MONEY because they refused to refund it. I am the purchaser of the gift card, and I have the receipt. I could have purchased product and be able to return it. How is it ok for them to keep my money and refuse to refund it? I'm shocked and disappointed by this. AmericanGirl didn't sell me anything... the card itself doesn't cost more than 10 cents. Why would I be forced to take product that I don't want? How is this fair?

Takes long time to arrive

I ordered birthday shirt with matching doll birthday shirt on the 6/7 its now 6/30, past my granddaughter birthday. They told me 7 business days
